The Lectures That Made a Difference

Hello!

Here are a few lessons I got from a range of lectures from experts I had the privilege of listening to.

Talk from Tom Duffield

His work about his dad peaked my interest. Mostly because of how personal the work allows the viewer to connect with it. His work is the self-portraits with his father. His work seems unedited and the lighting seemed mostly naturally lit.

Liam's Notice

It seemed that during his talk I could see that in Liam’s understanding of work and how sometimes being at the right spot at the right time. I found that the way he talks about photography and the importance of being prepared.

Yan's Eureka Moment

Through her process of Covid, Lockdown Yan found interest in a tree where through the social climate of 2019-2021 she had an epiphany on being an ex-pat found a strong correlation to me. I love how she did multiple projects. With her project, she included videos of animals and showed what lives in the area she was focused on and making music. Shows me that photography and the process can be used for artwork.

My Reflection

This practice has different methods of work and not all processes are the same. Maybe the learning from this is to trust your skill and hone your skill. The main learning is Time is of the essence.

Till Next Time.
