In this blog, I will be sharing my thoughts on Pablo Antolí 's blog ( https://www.antolistudio.com/ ) as a whole first home page, stories, food, journey, about, contacts, and lastly give a general review.
Looking at Journeys Page
I like how in his work is a scan from his journals shown in a collage on top of a map of every location he has been. I noticed as I scroll down that no two images look the same in every location given that each place has its feel. I also like how the images within the collage are not cluttered even with a quick explanation of what this page is about in just 2 lines.
Looking at Stories Page
I was expecting text in the stories but was pleasantly surprised to see just pictures. Pictures related to places he has been to and can see what he learned. I love this method of storytelling he used. Might use that approach as I keep moving forward but it was a pleasant surprise.
Looking at Food Page
Doesn't seem to be from the studio which is nice. The work is cleaner than the ones from the journey. I mostly like in this section how the images have a bit of messiness in them like a blueberry out of the group as shown in the second to last row.
Looking at About Page
He shared how he is inspired through his travelling where he encounters local cuisine and learns about traditional methods my assumption is about cooking. He also shared how he aims to share the information he learns through his documentation of places he has been in. I honestly like how this is straight to the point and simple. He also explains how his approach to food photography is looking at them as culture instead of as a product. Inspired my about in terms of sharing my explanation of work and sharing the aim of my work.
Looking at Home Page
His home page seems to be a blend of all his work from all three sections and no text were given. I like how the only thing you need to do is scroll. The top images are from the latest story. This tells me that there seems to be a flow within his website.
Looking at Contact
His contacts show where and how to contact him instead of a form making it easier for the reader to continue looking. There is also a link or button directing directly to his Instagram that saves both the photographer and me so much time. Although The button is shown twice I am unsure as to why but looks clean in the contact section.
Reflection
The website is easy to manoeuvre, has little to no text and is just nice with the major simplicity. This helps me see how simple I want to keep my website and how much text I want for the website. I for sure will walk away with keeping my website simple.
